PMP Exam Guide 2026: Format, Eligibility & Booking Rules

Understand the current PMP format, recognized education and experience routes, qualifying training and standard appointment rules. This independent guide covers 180 questions, 170 scored items, 240 minutes and 33/41/26 domain weights. Fees vary by region and membership: compare the complete PMI checkout total. Under the standard booking policy, changes within 30 days but more than 48 hours before the appointment cost US$70 plus applicable tax. Within 48 hours cancellation/rescheduling is unavailable; a no-show forfeits the exam fee. Consult the handbook for documented extenuating circumstances and CITEF rules for mainland China. The optional eight-week 100–120-hour schedule is an editorial example. 80 seconds per item is a whole-exam average; adapt pacing and study time to your needs.
